
Dr. Ektefaie is an Endodontist in Vancouver
Dr. Ektefaie's academic journey began at Capilano University (formerly know as Capilano College) in 1994. He then transferred to UBC where he received his BSc in 1999 and then continued on to the UBC Dentistry program, receiving his DMD degree in 2003. After three years of general practice in North Vancouver, he moved to Philadelphia where he received his certificate in Endodontics in 2008 and MSc in Oral Biology in 2009 from Temple University.
Dr. Ektefaie has been a Certified Specialist in Endodontics in Vancouver since 2009. Mahmoud is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the British Columbia Society of Endodontists (BCSE), the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), the BC College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP), the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC).
Dr. Ektefaie enjoys attending dental conferences and participating in continuing education courses in different fields of dentistry. Besides his desire for life-long learning, he gives back to the dental community by providing lectures to general dentists at dental conferences and local study clubs. Dr. Ektefaie is a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC Graduate Endodontic Department. In addition, Dr. Ektefaie serves as an endodontic examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Ektefaie loves nature and is proud to be a resident of the most beautiful city in the world for the past 30 years. He is a Vancouver WhiteCaps soccer fan and he is also an active referee for BC Soccer.
